I just knew this week's Culinary Crafts article was going to be a good one as soon as I read the title Finger Lickin' Good! You may or may not know this about me, but I am not a bird person. I think birds are beautiful and I have several ceramic birds sitting around the house. I have recently developed a thing for owls. I blame my mother who had an owl print from Home Interiors when I was a kid. I even have faux eggs in jars in my kitchen. So, I guess I am a bird person; just not real birds! Any hoo, I really enjoyed Leigh's recount of her adventures with raising chickens. Hearing her say it was like an Easter egg hunt everyday just about had me planning where I could put a coop! Don't tell my husband, he'll be dragging me off to the flea market! The more I read of Leigh's story, the more reminded I was of a series of books by Doreen Cronin featuring the antics in Farmer Brown's barnyard. Leigh, if you're reading this (and I know you will!) I think your story would make one hilarious children's book! And to top it all off, Leigh has another round of yummy recipes for us this week. I gotta ask, is that Orange Chicken the same as the stuff you get at the Chinese restaurants in malls? I've never tried it, but I've got a family memeber who gets it and think I might try out Leigh's recipe for our next get together! I'm pinning it, are you? Have a great weekend everybody!

Culinary Crafts: My New Interest
It's official. Leigh has become a pinner. What's a pinner? A person who pins interesting things on Pinterest! And she is absolutely right; Pinterest is addictive! I just took a scroll through Leigh's pinterest boards and I am in love! She has everything so nice and organized! It's like looking at a digital cookbook! Oh, you probably want to know how you can see all the wonderfulness that is Leigh's Pinterest, too! First, make a stop over and read today's article Culinary Crafts: My New Interest, you'll find the link toward the bottom! Be sure to check out her "Favorite Blogs" board, it's my favorite (thanks, Leigh!)! Then get yourself an invite to Pinterest and start pinning, too! I already pinned that recipe for Pizza Dip! As always, you can read Leigh's articles on iSurf News!

Culinary Crafts: Pigging Out
It's that time again; Leigh has another great post over on Culinary Crafts! Take a few minutes to read and enjoy Leigh's latest: Pigging Out. My brother-in-law had a pet pig once, and it used to nibble on the toe of your shoes. I never really liked that pig. But, I do want sausage for breakfast, and I want to see a pic of those adorable piggies and their condo!
Even though my daughter isn't old enough to read, I'm keeping her (and my husband) away from that article. We'd have a mini-farm of our very own if I let my husband be in charge (ha ha). I am all for house pets, but I don't think this couponer could handle a pet piggie! Although, Piglet was always my favorite friend from Winnie the Pooh! Do you think they have a coupon for sweet feed?
I can never decide which part of Leigh's articles are best, the story or the recipes! I've always wanted to try a recipe that called for red wine, and one of this week's recipes just may be the first one I attempt! As always, you can read Culinary Crafts on iSurf News, too.

Culinary Crafts: Take a Flying Leap
It's time for another great weekly post from Culinary Crafts! I've always been a little intrigued by leap year so I'm glad Leigh has shared some really interesting facts in Take a Flying Leap. If you're a leap year baby, when do you celebrate your birthday? February 28th or March 1st? If I was a leap year baby, I'd be having one heck of a party every four years to celebrate it! Oh, and don't forget that Leigh shares great recipes with us each week! If you're a fan of the fried pickle, you're not going to want to miss this week's recipes! I'm adding that one to my Pinterest board for future reference! In fact, I created a new pin board just for that recipe! And, as always, you can read Leigh's articles on iSurf News! Happy Friday, y'all!

Culinary Crafts: A Rose By Any Other Name
Leigh is reminding us this week in A Rose By Any Other Name that Valentine's day is just around the corner! Yikes, it's only two days away! I am totally not ready, what about you? If you're in the "I can't believe it's only two days away" boat with me, you might try out one of Leigh's great recipes to sweeten your sweetheart's day! Have a Happy Valentine's Day, Everybody! You can also read Leigh's article on iSurf News!

Culinary Crafts: Please Don't See A Shadow
I'm a little behind getting this posted; life sure has been busy here this week! But, I finally took time to read Leigh's latest post, Don't See A Shadow, and I am 100% on Leigh's side about this weather business. It can be freezing cold and the sunshine will make it just a bit more bearable.
Sadly, Mr. Phil did see his shadow and predicts 6 more weeks of winter. Although, I'm just not too sure how reliable a groundhog is as a weatherman! Anyone know how often his predictions are right?
Anyhoo, head over and take a look at this week's recipes! In case you didn't know, Nutter Butters are my favorite cookies and Rice Krispy treats rate pretty high on my snack-o-metter, too! You can also read Leigh's column on iSurf News!

Culinary Crafts: The Corn Chips Have It
Head over to Culinary Crafts for a very intersting story about the birth of my kids favorite chip (next to cheetos, of course!). The Corn Chips Have It is a really interesting article! I am all about learning things I didn't know and this one is really food for thought! And it hails from "deep in the heart of Texas" which always makes me smile (we lived in Texas for a little while and they had a commercial with the state song, that's the only line I remember, but it sure made an impression on me!). You can read the article on iSurf News, too. And, as usual, I left a comment and I invite you to leave one too! Did your cafeteria make Haystacks? I was a packed lunch kid, so I can't say for sure if our cafeteria made them, but I pinned that recipe to Pinterest for future reference! Have a good Friday, y'all!

Culinary Crafts: The Big 21
You may need your box of tissues for this week's The Big 21 over at Culinary Crafts (you can also find it on iSurf)! I got a little misty-eyed reading it! And I'm definitely "pinning" that dip recipe to my Pinterest board for future reference! Oh, and Happy Birthday, JoJo!
I love to leave comments on blogs that I love to follow, so head over and checkout the comment I left today! It's got a savings tip for one of those great recipes Leigh shared with us! I'm sort of on the fence about that oatmeal one...I may have to try that one near the holidays!

Culinary Crafts: 13 x 3
Did you realize tomorrow is Friday the 13th? I didn't put the 1 and 3 together until I read this week's Culinary Crafts: 13 x 3 (read it on iSurf, too). And how many do we have this year? Really?
Boy am I in big trouble. You see, I am a picky eater. And all those wonderful recipes Leigh shares with us this week...well, they are all a bit too interesting for me! If the pork chops make that dish lucky, I might be ok; I'll just have to substitute "seasoned meat tenderizer" for all those really interesting spices! As I type this I can see it's just beginning to snow...I think I'll just stay home tomorrow!

Culinary Crafts: Winter & New Year's
Two great reads on Culinary Crafts this morning! Warming up for Winter will put you in the mood for a nice, steaming bowl of soup. Did you get your frozen vegetables while they were on sale at Market Place? You still have today to grab them at a great price! A few bags of mixed vegetables and a can or two of tomato juice steeming in the crock pot sounds just about perfect right now! Throw in some frozen meatballs and invite me to dinner!
Chinese New Year, No Wait....is a light hearted post about planning for one thing and ending up with something else! I feel that way after most of my trips to the "big box store". I did "pin" those cookie recipes to Pinterest for safe keeping. I'm in the midst of baby shower planning and am on the hunt for great (easy) finger foods for the party!
You know, this baby shower may just have to have a "cookie" theme. Dinosaur shaped cookies. Chocolate chip cookies (because, I have a ton of morsels left from my pre-holiday shopping). Do you think people will eat blue cookies? My cousin is expecting a bouncing baby boy, so I want to coordinate everything! Happy Tuesday, y'all!

Culinary Crafts: Get Shorty...what?
I learned something new this morning! If you want to learn it, too, be sure to read Culinary Crafts: Get Shorty on iSurf news! And as always, the recipes do not disappoint....they might make you hungry, but they won't disappoint! That shortbread cookie recipe couldn't come at a better time, I bet it'll make great cookies for Santa!
When I first saw the title "Get Shorty" I thought Leigh was writing about the movie with John Travolta which lead to a sequel called Be Cool. Here's a fun fact, Danny Devito (a short favorite, read her article) was also in Get Shorty! Turns out the movie is totally unrelated, but I had fun IMDB-ing it anyway!
It's a good week to bake because cookie ingredients are on sale at Market Place this week! They have flour priced less than the store brand at another favorite retailer!

There are some pretty good Christmas candy coupons available now and another coming this Sunday! You know I'm leaving her a comment, so head over and see what else I had to say!

Culinary Crafts: Naughty or Nice?
Uh-oh, Leigh's counting down the days 'til Christmas and asking us if we've been Naughty or Nice! Yikes!
And those recipes made me giggle and smile this morning! I gotta say "Reindeer Poop" is one of my all time favorite recipes! And I am dying to know which animal crackers she used on those cupcakes! And now I'm brainstorming other candies I could put in that fudge recipe! I think I better ask Santa for bigger jeans this year!
Check it out at Culinary Crafts by Leigh or on the iSurf site! I'm leaving a comment so be sure to click over and read it! And leave a comment while you're there! We bloggers love comments!
Thanks, Leigh, you've done it again this week! Hey, do you have a recipe for Old Fashioned Fudge? The kind of fudge where you use Cocoa instead of chocolate chips? My grandmomma used to make it and it was my all time favorite!
