Did You Notice The Header Changed?

If you missed it, I changed the Blog Header to include the date, time, and place of the Couponer's Meet & Greet.  I thought it looked great!  What do you think?

Thanks again, and happy couponing!

Kroger My Magazine in my Mail Box!

Finally walked out to check the mail this afternoon and I was tickled to find a copy of the Kroger My Magazine waiting for me.  I had heard about these but had never received one!  I was a little disappointed when I opened it and found just pet food coupons...but, my cat has three kittens, so maybe I can find some good deals!  I really don't know how I got signed up for this, it had to be something to do with my Kroger card, I guess.  I hope they continue to send these out!

Krazy Coupon Lady Radio Show

The ladies behind the website www.thekrazycouponlady.com have created a radio show that you can hear online at this link.  http://toginet.com/shows/extremecouponinginaneverydayworld  I decided to tune in and see what they are talking about.

It got off to a negative start for me because it kind of seemed like they were "bad mouthing" some of the folks featured on Extreme Couponing.  One of the girls even joked, "If you don't have anything nice to say..."  But, once they got past that topic, it wasn't a bad show.  It was a long show, but it wasn't bad.

One thing I don't agree with is their recommendation for calling "corporate" when you run into a problem in the store.  I think you should call the corporate office only in extreme situations.  If every couponer calls corporate to "knit-pick" about every shopping trip, the stores are going to stop listening when there is a real issue to address.  The ladies did stress to only stand your ground when you know you're right and the store is wrong.  I just never heard them state that each store can handle the coupon policy from a differing perspective at the manager's discretion.  And we are seriously limited on the number of places to shop here in Hopkins County.  If you start ticking off the cashiers and managers, where do you plan on shopping?  Now, I wouldn't advise you to jump in when another couponer is having a problem, definitely mind your own business.  After that couponer leaves the store, if you can add some wisdom to the situation, be willing to share it with the cashiers!

A caller complained that the prices at her Walmart didn't match the prices in the online coupon matchups she had used to make her shopping list.  I liked the Ladies response about this because I get irritated when I find that our Walmart is higher, too!  They basically called Walmart out about having higher prices instead of lower prices.  Amen!

Another Wacky Mac Printable

Here's the link to a printable from the Wacky Mac website:  http://www.stromproducts.com/great-offers/great-coupon-offer/  This one is double-able, too!  I was able to print this 40-cent off coupon twice, eventhough I just printed the coupon from coupons.com earlier this week.  So print this one out and add it to your coupon caddy.  It won't expire for about 30 days, so hang onto it and be on the lookout for a good deal!

Coupons.com Printables

You may want to check out the coupons on http://www.coupons.com/.  There were three new coupons I printed off today under zip code 77477.  The NatureSweet website says their products are sold at Kroger, and the coupon doubles, so let's hope our Kroger carries those cute little tomatoes!  The Fresh Express is a Chiquita product, so I'd say it's favorable that you can find it here in Hopkins County.  It's also a double-able 50-cent coupon so be on the look out for it when you're in the produce section at Kroger!

The third coupon is "only redeemable at Walgreens" even though it is a manufacturer's coupon.  I am not sure if you would be able to use this at other retailers.  The fine print states: Redeemable at Food, Drug, and Discount Stores.  I think the bigger, bolder text is going to deter a lot of cashiers from accepting this coupon at other stores.  The good news is that Aleve goes on sale frequently at Walgreens.  The coupon is for $2 off any Aleve 40ct or larger.

Walgreens Weekly Ad Sneak Peek

Are you signed up to receive the Walgreens Weekly Ad Sneak Peek by email on Fridays?  Sometimes it isn't available until Saturday, but that's still early!  I love seeing this email in my inbox on Friday mornings.  It's a great tool if you want to get a jump start on your shopping list before Sunday morning.

I don't want to spend too much time on Walgreens shopping.  Wags is a national chain and the sales here are pretty right on with those reported on the numerous coupon websites/blogs.  But, there were a couple things that caught my attention that will probably impact your shopping in Hopkins County next week.

First, as you can see from the screen print on the left, Nestle Crunch is on sale for the yummy price of 39-cents starting Sunday 6/12.  There is a 35-cent printable on coupons.com that you probably have in your coupon caddy.  Just remember if you use the coupon toward that candy bar, the candy bar no longer qualifies as a cheap "filler".  A candy bar for 39-cents is probably going to be the "filler" item of choice next week making those candy bars difficult to come by.  I envision a scene strait out of Wonka where couponers rush to the candy isle to snag these delicious, cheap treats.  Plus, my favorite filler, the individual Laffy Taffy, has disappeared from the checkout at my favorite Walgreens!  The 35-cent off coupon will double if you use it at Market Place, Kroger, or Sureway.  I love double-able coupons!

Dial Bodywash is the second thing I spotted in the ad.  It's going to be on sale for $2.99.  And, yes, there is an upcoming $2 coupon without a size restriction (reportedly).  I personally like the adage:  seeing is believing.  You can certainly try finding the trial size bottle at Walmart, score a buck in overage, and leave the store with the tiny bottle of bodywash.  Or you can use the coupon at Walgreens next week and get a FULL size bodywash for a buck.  If you are having stockpile envy, spending $1 for a bodywash is a great way to increase your Health & Beauty stockpile.  If we do indeed get the $2 off coupon locally, I'll be using it at Walgreens.  ALSO, if the supply is obliterated before you get to the store, ask very nicely for a rain check.

Here's the address for the weekly ad sneak peek.  I am unsure if it will take you to the ad.  You may have to sign up and then receive the link directly from your email!  http://walgreens.shoplocal.com/walgreenssneakpeek/Default.aspx?action=browsepageflash&storeid=2568510&rapid=1201139&pagenumber=1&prvid=Walgreens-110612c&promotioncode=Walgreens-110612c
