From Amber's Blog: Walmart Doubles Update

Be sure to stop by Amber's Couponing in Princeton Blog and read her post Walmart Doubles Update
Unfortunately we aren't seeing Walmart doubles locally, but keep your fingers crossed.  Let's hope that, if and when, it makes it to our Walmarts they will have a better system for doubling coupons.

If I understand the process correctly, right now the register doesn't automatically double the coupons.  Instead, the cashier must manually price adjust each item for the amount of the "double" and then scan the actual coupon.  I'm not 100% sure, but I think there is no limit to the number of coupons you can use in one transaction at Walmart (unless specified by the coupon).  So, imagine if you had 100 coupons that are "double-able" and the cashier has to manually price adjust each item in your buggy.  Even worse, can you imagine being in line behind someone who has a lot of coupons that double?

Even though the checkout process sounds like a nightmare, I am so hoping that the doubles program works out favorably for Walmart and we begin to see it as part of their corporate policy: meaning there will be double coupons in all Walmarts!  Even if they only do the doubling one day a week, and you have to give up price matching, it will be worth shopping at Walmart for almost every product you buy!
