9/6 Hot Coupon Topics

A few interesting reads from the coupon-osphere....

  • Wild For Wags - Got your coupons ready?  Be sure to print these before 9/11 because these products will be on sale for 99-cents at Walgreens!  Only 49-cents a bag!  Yum!                            Chex Mix $0.50 (9/1:77477)  and Bugles $0.50 (9/1:77477)   Since the coupons won't double at Walgreens, consider Price Matching at Walmart where you're going to find more instock.  This sale is probably for the smallish bags, so keep an eye on prices at the grocery in case you can get a better deal on the bigger bags with a double coupon!  Plus, I saw bags of Buggles for 99-cents at Save-a-Lot this weekend, so you may not need to wait until Sunday.
  • Wild for Wags - Here are a couple good scenarios for FREE or super INEXPENSIVE Vick's Vapo Drops which you can find in the checkout lines.  I'd call this one a "use it before you lose it" deal.  This isn't a weekly sale deal so you don't have to run out and get it right away.  With the colder weather, you might need to buy Vapo rub or cough medicine and could put the coupons to better use!  But, if you still have them close to the expiration date (9/30) and don't want to lose them, this is a good deal to snag!
  • My Litter - some shoppers are finding Monopoly on clearance for $5 at Walmart.  Unfortunately, if you haven't already printed the $4 off coupon, it has disappeared already!  There's still one for the Electronic Monopoly (Hasbro Monopoly, Electronic $5.00 (9/5:77477) ) in case you find it on clearance, too!  Our Walmart has a clearance section in Lawn & Garden.
  • Coupons, Deals, and More - Extreme Couponing Reality.  Well, all I can say is, I am a fan of TLC's Extreme Couponing.  If my cousin hadn't caught the show and filled me in, I wouldn't be hosting a coupon blog right now.  I wouldn't have known that stores actually have a "coupon policy" and that you can stack store coupons and manufacturer's coupons (at some places).  The downside for long-time coupon users is that now stores are cracking down on coupon fraud.  Bottom line.  Couponers had been abusing the coupon system for years (not just since EC premiered earlier this year).  Couponers can continue to blame the "newbies" for all of the policy changes taking place, but the changes are a direct result of years of misuse by long-time couponers.  To all of you "newbie" couponers, keep your chin up and your binder full, and don't be a shelf clearer!  No one likes a shelf clearer!
  • Wild for CVS - Snack Packs are 10 for $10 at CVS this week and there is a 50-cent off 2 coupon in the September issue of All You magazine.  Normally I'd use a 50-cent coupon at the grocery store because it would double to a buck, but this coupon will not double.  You can also price match the CVS ad at Walmart!
  • Loyal Couponer - Creating Your Stockpile.  I just love to see pictures of people's stockpiles!  Someday I hope to share pics of my goodies with everyone.  But, for now it's not presentable enough to share!
  • MoJo Savings - inexpensive Softsoap Bodywash next week at CVS after coupon and earned ECB!
  • Subway - Featured $5 Footlong Sub of the Month: Turkey Breast & Black Forrest Ham.
  • Grocery Shop For Free - No More Kroger Doubles in Dallas.  Eeek!  I hope that trend doesn't make it's way all the way across the country to us!  You'd almost have to start shopping exclusively at Walmart if the grocery stores stopped doubling coupons!
  • Money Saving Madness - Can you save BIG with printable coupons?  Survey says....yes, yes you can.  Printable coupons are my favorite coupons!
