Congrats PURPLE & ORANGE Pods!

I got extra great news yesterday about Southside's Fall Food Drive!  There are TWO winning pods!  Congrats to the PURPLE and ORANGE pods!  The total amount of items donated was just amazing!  Thank you to everyone who helped make this food drive such a success for Southside's Family Resource Center!

And, I am super excited to see a flyer in my kiddos backpack announcing an upcoming "Holiday-Gram" event!  You can send a "Holiday-Gram" to a student for 50-cents!  How cool is that?  Even more cool, the proceeds go directly to the Family Resource Center to help students and families in need right here at Southside (thanks Ms.Teresa!).  I've started making my list {and checking it twice} to see how many students I need to send a "Holiday-Gram" to next week.  Guess you could even send them to the teachers!  Or the principal!  Or the office and nurse staff!  Or the custodians!  Or those wonderful lunch ladies!  My list just got a little bit longer!

Have a happy weekend everyone!  We have a date with "Arthur Christmas" and an old coffee table I want to become a new desk!  And we still need to put up the Christmas tree, and fix that glitch in the outside lights, and wrap presents, and work on a 12 days of Christmas project for the kids...

Dollar General: $5 off $25 TODAY

See you at Dollar General for a great day to save!

Red Plum must have a Glitch

Today is the day RedPlum announced we would start to see faster, better printable coupons....well, I've been waiting for a coupon to print for at least half an hour now.  I'm guessing that their "big reveal" has not gone according to plan.  Let's just hope they get it fixed quick.  Are the coupons printing for you?  Maybe it's just my computer!  Turns out, I needed to upload a newer version of Java {http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp} and give the RedPlum "permission" and then the coupons printed!  And it was a lot quicker and the coupons do look a lot cleaner!

Dollar General: $5 off $25 Saturday!!!

Don't forget to stop in at Dollar General tomorrow (Saturday, 12/3) for another save $5 off a $25 purchase!  If you didn't get the coupon on the bottom of your sales receipt, visit the Dollar General website for a printable!

I am happy to see this text on my receipt coupon:  "Cashier instructions: Scan or enter promotion code for this coupon BEFORE manufacturer coupons."  What does this mean?  Well, I am hoping this means that you can combine {or "stack"} this Dollar General promotion with manufacturer's coupons!  I'm going to solve that mystery once and for all tomorrow!  Wish me luck!

Brawny Paper Towels Cost How Much?

This 55-cent off a single roll of Brawny was one of my favorite coupons yesterday but I wasn't sure how much a single roll of towels cost.  So, I did a little price checking and found them at Wally World for $1.77 each!  Yikes, that's an expensive roll of paper!  You'd still pay $1.22 after coupon, and that's not a great buy.

Here's a Great Buy:  You can get a 6-roll package of Bounty for $5 bucks at Dollar General this week.  If you buy 5 packages of Bounty tomorrow and use your $5 off coupon, you'll only pay $4 per package!  That's about 66-cents per roll without needing a manufacturer's coupon!  Much, much better!  Sorry, Brawny, Bounty's got you beat!

Southside: Congrats to the Winning Pod!

I wanted to send a quick shout out to Southside's winning Pod...only I can't remember which pod was the winner!  If you're reading this {hey, Ms.Teresa!}, and you know who won, leave a comment; just click "Congrats to the Winning Pod!" above and you'll be redirected to the page with the comments field just under this post!

I had the immense pleasure of seeing a full {over flowing!} donations table yesterday during my visit at Southside.  There are going to be full cupboards all over the place tonight!  I also got to meet a sweet, sincere student who helped count the donations with Ms. Teresa.  Come to think of it, I think this student may have had a big hand in seeing her pod to victory!  It's heart warming to see youngsters taking such an active roll in helping others, don't you think?

To the winning pod, CONGRATULTIONS!  I know you guys will enjoy your pizza party.  But, what's even better, I know there will be families who will really enjoy all of your donations, too!  And let's give a round of applause to the Family Resource Center and Southside for sponsoring such a fantastic Food Drive!  Students and Families, there couldn't be a Food Drive without your participation, so give yourself a pat on the back!

Today officially ends this year's food drive....all I can say about next year: Game On!  ;-}

Aleve, Sally, and Lava?

I took a quick stroll through Coupons.com to see if anything new and exciting had popped up over night.  And it DID!  Here are my top three favorites this morning!
Save $1.00 off Sally Hansen Nail Color I am super happy to see this coupon for Sally Hansen Polish!  I know a tween or two who will be very happy to score a bottle of the hot, new Crackle Polish!  If you haven't heard, crackle is no longer just for DIY projects.  I saw these fascinating little bottles on an end cap at Wally World for around $7 bucks each.  Now, let's hope for a sale!

Save $2.00 on any Aleve 40ct or larger
A great little remedy for all the things that give you a headache during the holidays!

Save 55-cents off Lava Twin Pack I had to go back and print this one, because in all the months I've been couponing, I can't remember seeing a coupon for Lava soap before!  Plus, I figure if this stuff is geared for grease, it'll be just as great for washing away wood stain and paint!

Don't Panic, Red Plum gets a Makeover

I got a message from Red Plum yesterday letting me know that the website has undergone some changes to make life better.  They've revamped their coupon printing software to make printing coupons faster {HOORAY!}.

What does this mean to us?  Faster printing and coupons with a clearer, crisper image.  You shouldn't have to update any "printing software" for these changes.  Other coupon printing sites use the same program so your PC should be ready for whatever you decide to print!

All, Brawny, SpaghettiO's, Minute Maid, BigG Cereals

Here's a list of my six favorite Coupons.com printable coupons this morning!  I found all of them under 77477.

Save $1.00 on Two Big G Cereals Printable
Use it at Sureway this week during the 4/$10 sale!  Print two copies and get your cereal 4/$8 or $2 each!

Save $1.00 on Two Big G Cereals Printable
Great for Sureway if these varieties are part of the 4/$10 sale!

Save 50-cents on 5 SpaghettiO's
Print and keep for a sale!  Kroger often has these as part of their Mega Events.

Save $1.00 on 1 Minute Maid Juice Box 10-pk
My Kindergartener just started taking a lunch box so I am super excited to see this coupon!  I've already printed my copies and have them with my shopping list!

Save 55-cents on Brawny Paper Towels, 1 Big Roll or larger
I haven't purchased a single roll of paper towels in a while, but I would think you could use this coupon and get the roll for somewhere close to a buck.  If they are charging more than $2 for a roll of paper towels, well, I say Brawny can keep them!  I printed it just in case!

Save $1.00 on All Free Clear Liquid or Powder, 32oz or Larger
Did you notice how the pic says "any size" and then has a specified size in parentheses?  Either way, All is my detergent of choice so I'm printing it and hoping for a sale soon!  My "buy it" price for laundry detergent is $2 or less per bottle.
