Blog to Checkout: Somewhat Muddled Musings

I think it was fate that brought me to the blog Somewhat Muddled Musings, by Darcy Baldwin.  Darcy is part of the digital scrapbooking world where I have dabbled and admired for years now!  Be sure you check out her post titled Being Prepared: Stocking Up The Pantry For Emergencies.  It's a great guide for everyone but especially for couponers.  And for those of us here in Western Kentucky who survived the ice storm, well, you all remember what a horrible few weeks that was around here.  Not to mention that my cousin, Amy, just told me the prediction for this winter is snow, snow, and snow.  So, as the cooler weather sets in I am going to start taking a really close look at what items I need to be stocking up on.  Anyone interested in helping me formulate a "stock up strategy"?  Send me an email:  hopkinscountycouponer@gmail.com

What are the "Great for Cooking" Soups?

Saw on the 9/18 Sunday Coupon Preview that there was a coupon for 40-cents off 4 Campbell's Condensed Great for Cooking Soups.  If you're curious, like me, about what are the "great for cooking" soupons, you can see all of them here on the Campbell's website.  If my counting is correct this morning, there are 25 varieties!  All of them have the little blue band on the front.

Good Sunday Morning!

Good morning, everyone!  I am on blog-lite this morning because we went to Evansville yesterday and I have slept in this morning!  I learned an important lesson yesterday.....Not only am I getting wider, I am also getting shorter!  I shopped for pants and found that I no longer wear a "medium" length, but have been shrunk to a "short".  Huh?  Yeah, I think the fashion world just tries to make it hard to find pants that fit.  They just want to keep us chained inside that dressing room for as long as possilbe!

We did have a great day in Evansville, though.  Went to the movies...watched Straw Dogs, I love James Marsden (another tid-bit about me).  Thought the movie was intense, but good.  It's also loosely based on a book called "The Siege of Trencher's Farm" and I am in hot pursuit of a copy.  Did you know that Barnes & Noble is, like, the only book store left in Evansville?  No more Borders and no more Books-a-Million.  And wouldn't you know it, B&N didn't have one single copy of that book in the store!  So, I had to settle with a copy of "The Help" which I've been wanting to read for awhile.  Thankyou to the cashier was said read the book, then see the movie.

I did spot a new coupon for Skittles, Starburst, or Life Savers this morning!  You should be able to find the Fun Size in the Halloween isle, but the candy isle may have to best prices.

Have a great day! --Misty

Kroger: Goal Line Stand

Only seven days left to play Kroger's Goal Line Stand Game.  No surprise here, I didn't win again today!

Subway: Where's the chicken?

Sorry, this is not coupon related, just a little food for though.....

Hubby stopped on his way home to grab Subway for us yesterday.  I always order the Oven Roasted Chicken Breast.  I just want to know where the heck was the chicken in my sandwich yesterday?  I could be wrong, but I'd swear the patties have gotten thinner and shorter since the last sandwich I had!  Subway obviously can't shorten the length of their bun, because they couldn't call it a foot long sub.  But, are they shrinking the fillings to save money?  I hope that this is just a weird occurance and that it won't happen the next time we dine at Subway!  Have a great weekend!
